Social responsibility
"Flintas Publishing" takes its role in society seriously and actively contributes to children's education and social welfare. Our activities are based on the belief that high-quality content for children not only develops creativity and curiosity but also shapes values and worldviews. Striving to be more than just publishers, we consistently uphold the principles of social responsibility and create meaningful change both in the reader community and in society at large.
The social responsibility of the "Flintas' publishing" house is reflected in:
1. Encouraging reading
The publishing house actively contributes to the development of a culture of reading among children. We believe that every child has the right to discover the world of books and reading, which is why:
- We donate unsold magazine copies to hospitals to brighten up the days of young patients.
- In 2023, we organized a nationwide campaign: we filled 23 outdoor libraries in 16 Lithuanian cities with children's magazines and books. We donated about 700 children's magazines, books, and board games so that those who cannot afford to buy new ones could take them.
- We regularly conduct educational activities in kindergartens, schools, and hospitals, encouraging children to read, create, and take an interest in books and magazines, and to develop their skills by completing workbooks.
2. Sustainability and responsible publishing
80% of our publications are printed in Lithuania, at a local printing house that complies with all European Union environmental standards. This allows us to reduce our carbon footprint and support local businesses. When creating our publications, we carefully consider their impact on children and develop content that educates, nurtures, and enriches.
3. Ethics and responsible business
We cooperate honestly with authors, illustrators, and printing houses. All of our publications are original, created in Lithuania, and carefully adapted to different age groups of children. We consult with education specialists when creating responsible, ethical content. The children's educational books and magazines we create foster respect, curiosity, and creativity in children and help them safely explore the world.
4. Support for communities and initiatives
We donate our books and magazines to various initiatives and communities:
- Participants in Lithuanian chess school tournaments read the magazine "Brainuzzies".
- We contribute to events for families organized by the deaf community, "Red noses".
- Before major holidays, we visit the Švenčionys Children's Day Center "Šaltinėlis" and donate books and magazines.
- We support children's sports organizations. We have established the Flintas' Football Cup, supported children's basketball schools, and summer camps for young swimmers.
- We donate magazines to the Kaunas Food Bank Charity Fund so that children from socially disadvantaged families can also enjoy and experience the pleasure of reading.
- We are social partners of the Kaunas Faculty of the Vilnius Academy of Arts – we provide students with the opportunity to do internships at the publishing house.
